Verdigris is the blue-green patina that forms on aged copper and bronze left to the mercy of time and the elements. It's what the Statue of Liberty looks like. It's what a century-old church bell looks like. It's what these five Mr. Grippers look like — and we didn't do that on purpose. Horween's dyeing process on the inverted side of their premier Shell Cordovan just decided to go full ancient artifact and we were not going to argue with it.

Only DEFY would name a bag handle after an obscure color phenomenon most people have to Google. We're at peace with that.

Five exist. Each a completely unrepeatable one of one. The patina does what it wants and answers to no one.

(Horween's dyeing process is part craft, part controlled chaos — which means every gripper that comes out of it carries its own unique markings, colorations and personality that can never be exactly replicated.)
